About

Alexis Tutunnique, also known as Oleksii Tiutiunyk, is a Ukrainian ballet dancer associated with the National Opera of Ukraine and the United Ukrainian Ballet. Born in Kyiv, he graduated from the Kyiv National Ballet School in 2012 and developed his career through classical repertory, international performance, and Ukrainian stage tradition. His professional path includes work with the Mariinsky Theatre from 2013 to 2017 and later with the National Opera of Ukraine.

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Alexis became part of the United Ukrainian Ballet, the company formed in the Netherlands to bring together Ukrainian dancers displaced by the war. Through this company, he appeared in Alexei Ratmansky's production of Giselle, created especially for the United Ukrainian Ballet and presented internationally. In Giselle, Alexis performed the role of Albrecht opposite Christine Shevchenko, bringing together classical line, dramatic partnering, and the emotional structure of one of the great Romantic ballet roles. His work with the United Ukrainian Ballet also connects his artistic career to a wider cultural moment, in which Ukrainian dancers continued to perform, tour, and represent their artistic heritage during wartime. Alexis has also performed at international gala and humanitarian dance events supporting Ukraine.

His profile brings together Ukrainian training, classical stage experience, and the recent history of Ukrainian ballet artists working in exile. His work is suited to classical ballet productions, galas, cultural events, editorial projects, and performance formats requiring noble line, strong partnering, and dramatic presence.
