Steeven L

Steeven Labady Marcel is a Haitian dancer, performer, choreographer, singer, actor, and storyteller from Port-au-Prince. His interest in dance began around the age of ten, and he later began formal training in Haiti at the academy Régine Mont-Rosier Trouillot. His training includes modern dance, jazz, Haitian folklore, ballroom, Horton technique, classical dance, and contemporary dance.

In 2017, he continued his studies at the Escuela Nacional de Danza in the Dominican Republic under the direction of Marinella Sallent. He later graduated from the National Conservatory of Arts in the Dominican Republic, becoming part of a new generation of Haitian artists working across dance, theatre, voice, and storytelling. Steeven's artistic identity connects movement with heritage, memory, migration, and personal narrative. His practice brings together classical and contemporary training with Haitian cultural identity and interdisciplinary performance. He also writes and speaks through the language of storytelling, using movement, voice, and reflection as connected artistic tools.

His work is suited to stage performance, cultural projects, contemporary choreography, film, editorial imagery, commercial movement, musical theatre, and productions requiring expressive presence, movement versatility, and a strong narrative identity. His work brings together Caribbean roots, international training, and a performer's ability to move between dance, acting, singing, and story.
